Increasing Screening Efficiency In Your Recycle Operation…
Major Wire has the experienced and knowledgeable Territory Manager field support and Authorized Dealer Network to help you choose the right screen media option to solve your daily challenges as a recycle material producer. Upon request, these Major Wire experts can visit your operation and provide a no-cost plant performance audit of your screening needs to fine tune each screen’s production to its greatest potential.
For recycled asphalt pavement (RAP), stainless steel Flex-Mat® 3 eliminates blinding, particularly in warm weather when recycled asphalt material can turn hot and sticky. It can be used on top, middle and bottom screen decks.
For recycled concrete and demolition debris, Flex-Mat 3 is typically used on middle and bottom decks. When the problem is dust from fines, it eliminates blinding that occurs with dry and dusty material. For production of larger recycled concrete material, 1-inch to 1-1/4 inch Flex-Mat 3 is ideally suited because it eliminates pegging.
For high-impact loads and larger feed sizes on top decks, Major Wire’s Double-Weave™ woven wire is an alternative to heavy-gauge woven wire, single-strand woven wire or perforated punch plate screen media. Because it uses two, side-by-side, lighter-gauge wires in its weave rather than a single, heavy-duty wire, Double-Weave is easier to install, doesn’t break like single-strand woven wire cloth and costs less than perforated punch plate—with equal or better wear life. And with more open area than perforated punch plate, Double-Weave increases throughput up to 50% without the need for costly screen deck alterations.
Flex-Mat 3 increases production of spec product by up to 40% over woven wire or polyurethane panels. In addition, Flex-Mat 3 has up to 30% more open area than woven wire, allowing up to 30% more sized material to fall through each opening. Flex-Mat 3’s wear life exceeds that of traditional woven wire by up to three times because there are no cross wires with high wear spots as there are with woven wire.
Depending on the spec product desired and the size of the original material, most recyclers choose Flex-Mat 3 D configuration because it consistently produces accurate material separation. Flex-Mat 3 T (heavy-duty) is used in applications with high material impact on screens. Flex-Mat 3 S significantly reduces fines, while Flex-Mat 3 T for fine screening reduces blinding of very fine material.
